Sahara Desert Expedition

First day:

Early in the morning, we’ll depart in a private bus to the port where we’ll take a ferry to Tangier. There, our local guide will be waiting for us in our private Moroccan bus. We’ll head to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, to have a typical moroccan lunch and visit it’s Medina. After that, we will continue on our way to Meknes, one of the four imperial cities of Morocco. Once we arrive, we’ll check in at the hotel and have dinner.

Second day:

After having breakfast at the hotel in Meknes, we’ll continue on our route towards Merzouga, a small village close to the desert. We’ll make a stop on the way to visit the Cèdre Gouraud forest, where we’ll have the opportunity to spend some time surrounded by the entertaining Barbary macaques (also known as Monkeys of Gibraltar). They are wild but friendly and are always happy to receive a tasty peanut. After saying goodbye to our new monkey friends, we’ll stop to have lunch at a restaurant-hotel located in the Midelt province on the middle of the Atlas road. Once we are on a full belly we’ll continue to Merzouga. On arrival we’ll do the check in at the hotel or campsite. Afterwards we will enjoy a lovely dinner and rest by the mouth of the desert.

Third day:

Right after our hearty breakfast we’ll start our exciting Jeep tour that will take us all around Merzouga, where we’ll visit some points of interest such as the nomad settlements. We will end the Jeep tour on the dunes of the Sahara desert. Once back at the hotel, we’ll have lunch and get ready for our camel ride across the desert and towards the campsite. This ride will take around 2 hours and includes a stop to enjoy an incredible panoramic sunset view on the dunes. After dinner in the campsite, we’ll enjoy an authentic Berbers show; prepare to immerse yourself in an authentic experience, as they play their drums around the bonfire and under a sky full of stars!!

Forth day:

Optional early wake up to watch a scenic sunrise over the dunes of the the Sahara desert. After breakfast, we’ll head back to the hotel with our camels, where we’ll have time to rest by the swimming pool or at the tea salon. If you still want some more, you’ll have the option of doing an ATV tour (not included) around the dunes before coming back. Lunch and departure to Meknes. Stop by the Ziz Valley lookout to enjoy an awesome view of the Oasis. Check in at the hotel and dinner.

Fifth day:

Breakfast and departure towards Tangier, we’ll stop to have lunch and upon arrival to Tangier we’ll have free time to explore the Medina. After the free time in the Medina, we’ll go to the Tangier Port to take the ferry back to Tarifa to say goodbye to Morocco after our great Sahara desert expedition.
